Texas Volunteer Firefighter Memorial

 

The Texas Volunteer Firefighter Memorial, an outdoor memorial at the Capitol, honors those who rush into danger to save. It was first erected in 1896, and modified in1905. The memorial features a bronze sculpture of a fireman carrying a child which rests on a large granite base which has a ring of granite pillars around it inscribed with the volunteers names.
