The 2009 – 2010 school marks a momentous occasion for students of the University of MN, as well as for veterans connected with the institution and throughout the State. This fall’s football season is the first to be held in the brand new TCF Bank Stadium, a culmination of years of collaboration, design and construction.  Fitting for a structure that replaces the old Memorial Stadium, the new arena boasts a staggering memorial to all veterans, including a wall, flags and plaza outside the stadium’s entrance on the highly visible southwest corner of the property.

The memorial wall was designed as an 18-foot-high curved wall that stretches 72 feet from the entrance. Kasota Valley® Limestone, in a Honed finish, form the wall which bears the inspiring messages: “Duty, Honor, Country,” and “Minnesota Veterans, Thank You for Our Freedom.”

Expertly crafted Accolade® bronze Donor Plaques recognize the many groups and individuals that made the tribute possible. Kasota Valley® Limestone, in a Rock Pitch finish, was the material of choice for the Minnesota Tribal Nations sky markers that line the stadium. There are eleven markers in all, one for each of Minnesota’s Tribal Nations.
