As part of the new San Jose City Hall, artists Anna Valentina Murch and Douglas Hollis were commissioned to design an inspirational water feature that would drawn upon the region’s history and the natural environment. The San Jose’s geological conditions and struggle to control and balance the area’s water system inspired the design known as Waterscapes.

The water feature is composed of an Amber Gold granite terrace that tilts into the plaza Academy Black^® granite boulders provide places for people to sit and watch the water.
