To improve the dam’s ability to withstand seismic events and to meet state and federal safety guidelines, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) commenced a seismic retrofit project. The earthen dam modification project added approximately 253,000 – cubic-yards of rock fill to areas on the upstream and downstream faces of the dam.

Throughout the project, the team of Parsons, Coldspring and Kroeker worked together to insure the project schedules were met.

For the Crane Valley Dam project, Coldspring supplied 128,000 tons of Sierra White® granite, in sizes from 3/8 – inch to 20 -inches, for use as structural reinforcement.
